Travel Destination: Greenland

Greenland is located between the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans, populated by some (56,749) inhabitants and majority of them are eskimo descendants, mostly hunters and fishermen. Capital city is Nuuk (Godthab) where most of the shops, hotels and entertainment can be found. In northern part of the island is the city Quaanaak or (Thule) population of some (560) peoples and possibly the northern city in the world, this part of the island is not a welcome place, very icy and limited food supplies since fish and other animals are limited.

Traveling to Greenland is accessible before the heavy winter kick's in because you will be trapped in massive snowstorms and all transportation gets disconnected. There are large areas that driving is not accessible due to snow or ice, if you looking for excitement treat yourself a dog-sled ride into the icy land. You can fly with a helicopter to get easier around, as an example if you want to go to Quaanaak. Wild life is the point here so be prepared for some wild time if you up for hunting, fishing. Staying in a modern hotel will make your trip quite common stay, there are hotels that provide igloos not made from snow cubes. I will recommend to get your self a tent igloo for even a better stay in a traditional snow made igloo, super romantic with the northern lights included, if your skin can handle the cold. Gastronomy in Greenland is also quite rough and violent a lot of bodies to choose from such as whale meat, seal, polar bear, walrus and for sure you will get an extraordinary dinner. If you are a vegetarian you are in "trouble" since nothing grows there only a few ground routs and seasonal some strawberries. Eskimos eat a lot of meat because the climate is so cold that the meat keeps them warm, and they believe that meat makes them stronger and healthier. Eskimos are very friendly and lovable as long you wont offer them alcohol since they have zero tolerance to it, and they get drunk with just one drink. Drunkenness is very common in Greenland and specially to Eskimos where they become violent and anti-social, poverty is also common due to lack of education and information or resources. A tale has a say that Eskimos offered there wife's and daughters for sex to foreigners avoiding inbreeding.
Inuit culture existed for over 4,500 years and is based on surviving under extreme climate conditions and hunting. Mainly museums carry traditional clothing, accessories and wooden sculptures along with drawings of Eskimos hunting or better daily activities and nomadic ceremonies. Craftsmanship has not much to offer in Eskimos lifestyle, through raw technics and natural materials are the keys to Eskimos survival and creativity.
